The Weathering leaves .....

"Did i forget the phone" ...i thought and simlutaneously checked the pockets to find that i did infact do that...i rushed back into the elevator and reached for the 4th floor...i went back into my apartment and found the phone lying on the study table in the balcony ....i went to grab the phone and rush back ... but what i saw just made me stand and watch .... the green maple trees in front of home had all turned all yellow and slowly but surely were shedding their yellow coats ....the seasons were changing...the mad rush for the money had made me machine with no time to appreciate the beauty around me .....the politics at works ,deceptive and deplorable nature of people around had taken the major share of my thinking ...the falling leaves also indicated that its been quite some time that i had left home in the search of growth ...what did i gain....what did i loose .....is this all worth it.....i could not spend a worthy moment with my parents in the last 3-4 years .....where am i heading to....one thing that i realised in this process is the fact that this is one filthy world to live in ....the very nature of friendship and humanity are getting tested in this corporate rat race for the so called "growth" ...growth by all means is the only mantra in here....

The solitarty Reaper

Ever wondered what a great gift solitude is ..... friends,wife,kids,family are great companiens but solitude is one friend that would never leave you .you find him every where....here is for the all the solitary reapers out there from the wordsworth...

Behold her, single in the field,
Yon solitary Highland Lass!
Reaping and singing by herself;
Stop here, or gently pass!
Alone she cuts and binds the grain,
And sings a melancholy strain;
O listen! for the Vale profound
Is overflowing with the sound.

No Nightingale did ever chaunt
More welcome notes to weary bands
Of travellers in some shady haunt,
Among Arabian sands:
A voice so thrilling ne'er was heard
In spring-time from the Cuckoo-bird,
Breaking the silence of the seas
Among the farthest Hebrides.

Will no one tell me what she sings?--
Perhaps the plaintive numbers flow
For old, unhappy, far-off things,
And battles long ago:
Or is it some more humble lay,
Familiar matter of to-day?
Some natural sorrow, loss, or pain,
That has been, and may be again?

Whate'er the theme, the Maiden sang
As if her song could have no ending;
I saw her singing at her work,
And o'er the sickle bending;--
I listened, motionless and still;
And, as I mounted up the hill
The music in my heart I bore,
Long after it was heard no more.

Music...Larry and the Protests outside the office

The day started and i found myself transformed from a woken up dung beatle with a scattered hair into this funky office going dude....i put on my iPod and bang came Turn the Page ,Garage Inc ,metallica ....it nicw to hear james hetfield sing "on a long and lonesome highway..." yes it applies to me ...i was on a long and lonesome highway ...i have felt so since i came over to basel on this assignment ...the thoughts went heywire as my looks finally settled down on this pretty swiss lady .....she was kinda cute ...not that uncommon in basel ...i mean almost everone i see here is quite pretty .....but this women was indeed a lil cuter than the one i saw at the bus stop ...see i need some thing to think about in the lil over 10 min journey to work .Badischer Banhoff....up came the announcement ....and i had to get down and drag the feet of an active mind and un-willing body to the work desk ....
Guter morgan ...greeted a very thick voice ...instantly i searched for a human being to associate that voice with ..i found this fine gentleman may be in his ealry 40s or late 30s who repeated .."aah god morning " ...."good morning larry" i replied ....
i had met larry yesterday ...we usually dont get to see lot of Americans in Basel ...he was a regular American with strong western american accent.Was a nice guy to talk to ...and boyy...was he was die hard metal fan ...he mentioned he was omaha in nebraska. i wondered..does any one care about the dakotas and the states like nebraska.i only hear about the east coast or the west coast and silicon valley when i hear about US of A from my friends ....talking about nebraska i told him that the place sounded more familiar coz iam a great fan of the metallica song "Turn the page" ....it goes like " on the long and lonesome highway ..east of omaha" .....incidently he told me that it happens to be his favourite song as its originally from Bob seger....his favourite singer ...i wonder how music can give you good friends and all...so we got to speak a bit about America the people, the little know states of the US and culture ...more or less the not so dumb stuff.....

Guter Morgan -- Basileir

19th september,2007 ... another day in the quite and pleasent city of Basel,Switzerland ...its been 3 months since i first landed in this place ....things were new..amusing in a way ...having lived for 20 long years in the burgeoning indian cities filled with people and pothole ridden roads magnifying the traffic snarls filled with the ear-blowing honks..it was a pleasent shock to see and enjoy the silence of this city.There is no fear in this silence ...but a sense of relief....not of isolation but that of freedom and much needed privacy.....Basel happens to be the 4th most populous city in switzerland ...with a population of just over a lakh(infosys has an employee strenght of over a lakh employees), this small but beautiful city has captivated me ever since i came.As usual i take the bus no. 36 from my house to the office ..though a 10 min walk via the sub-way..i prefered to take a bus ride ....as i have always loved to have bus rides... a funny but a thought provoking incident happened during that short 8 min bus ride.....
